Selected specialist services offered cover mostly geotechnical engineering, but civil, structural, traffic/transport engineering and alternative dispute resolution, contract administration and project management are also offered. Entec owns and operates 4 materials testing laboratories, one each in Suva, Nadi, Lautoka and Labasa. All labs are capable of performing most of the materials testing in civil engineering and building and construction industries, and a couple in association with its close international counterparts, specialist engineering and scientific tests on soils, asphalt, concrete, aggregates, pavements and water. The Company also owns and operates specialist equipment to undertake traffic studies and surveys for road design, traffic management plan, risk assessment and feasibility studies.
Entec Pte Ltd, on 09 November 2018, acquired the entire laboratory testing business of WSP-Opus in Fiji with some 30 former employees. The acquisition also entailed the purchase of all assets including 8 No. 4x4 vehicles. The 2 Suva Branches of Entec Materials Testing Laboratory are being consolidated under one roof at Lot 2, Leonidas Street, Walu Bay, with a floor area exceeding 1,000 sq.m and an additional concrete courtyard for parking in the order of 1,100sq.m.
The services and tests performed are strictly in accordance with international standards and guidelines (AS and NZ normally and to ASTM if required). All testing equipments are products from accredited suppliers mainly from Australia, Italy, USA, New Zealand and the UK. Two out of four of Entec Materials Testing Laboratories have International Accreditation New Zealand (IANZ) certification.
Entec business is modelled around good principles of governance and integrity,whereby business is conducted responsibly and duties owed to its clients are properly discharged. Entec laboratories are set up to undertake research (in partnership with local and international universities), provide training and commercial support to the building and construction industries, in particular the infrastructure owners regulators in the likes of Fiji Roads Authority (FRA), Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) and Energy Fiji Limited (EFL).
In our daily business dealings, Entec lead the industry in "anti-corruption" and “good governance". The Writer sits and contributes to the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO) Standing Committee on Anti-Corruption and works closely with Global Infrastructure Anti Corruption Centre (GIACC) in England on knowledge sharing and building fellowship. Entec has a strict Integrity Policy and has adopted "ISO 37001-2016, Anti-Bribery Management System Standard (ABMS), for conducting its business with good governance, integrity and ethics. We believe Entec is the only regional consulting engineering company which has adopted the ABMS standard. The Company strongly believes in quality assurance and control and employs senior personnel to ensure quality is not compromised and is maintained at all times. All field and laboratory tests follow appropriate "Chain of Custody" processes. Entec is professionally indemnified to undertake professional engineering consultancy services in Fiji and Worlwide excluding USA/Canada.
The company has a very good standing; locally, regionally and internationally. It has very good understanding of Contracts; from writing, enforcement and to discharge. Although we practice Alternative Dispute Resolutions (ADR), we strongly belive in avoiding and mitigating disputes. We have a trained and experienced in-house expert to resolve and manage disputes using mediation and arbitration processes.
